About AVP
The Alternatives to Violence Project is a national network of volunteers running workshops for anyone over the age of 18 who want to find ways of resolving conflict without resorting to violence.
AVP understands that conflict is a natural and normal part of life, and that it is possible to learn new ways of handling it. Our workshops draws on everyday experiences helping us to move away from violence or abusive behaviour by developing other ways of dealing with conflicts.

About the Workshops
AVP volunteers run three day workshops at Level One and Two which look at different ways of handling confilict. The facilitors organise excercises, fun activities, discussions and role plays.
The workshops are held every couple of months and are held over a long weekend. The times are as follows:
Friday Night - starting at 6.30pm and ending no later than 9.00pm
Saturday All day - From 9.30am and ending no later than 7.00pm
Sunday All day - From 9.30am and ending no later than 4.30pm
There are approximately 16 participants on each workshop, they are required to attend all sessions in full, there are plently of breaks and refreshments/meals are provided.
The workshops are held at our Resource Centre on Netherhall Road, Doncaster.

The workshops are held every couple of months, this years (2012) workshop dates are as follows:
20 - 22 January (Level One)
16 - 18 March (Level One)
11 - 13 May (Level Two)
13 - 15 July (Level One)
21 - 23 September (Level One)
23 - 25 November (Level One)
