We all have times when things feel difficult.
And these days, there can be a lot to deal with. Stress. Work. Money. Relationships. Family. Health. Or simply feeling like life is getting on top of us. We carry on, hoping things will get better. We might not realise that now is the time to reach out.
But we don't have to wait until things become overwhelming to ask for support.
Before Things Break is about helping people in Doncaster reach out earlier - before challenges build up and before things become overwhelming. Because getting support earlier can change what happens next.
What does reaching out earlier mean?
Reaching out earlier can mean different things for different people.
It might mean talking to someone when things first start to feel difficult, or finding out what support is available, getting some advice, learning new ways to manage what's happening. Or simply recognising that things aren't quite right and knowing where to turn.
We want more people across Doncaster to feel able to reach out sooner - and to know that support is there when they need it.
Be part of this!
We can't change this on our own. Before Things Break is bringing people, communities and organisations together to help make reaching out earlier feel more normal.

Why early support matters in Doncaster
Across our communities, we're seeing more and more people wait until challenges feel unmanageable before reaching out for support.
By this point, situations are often more complex, affecting multiple areas of life including family, work and relationships. Many people also feel disconnected from their communities and those around them.
This is happening to people who live and work here - people we all know.
When people can access support earlier, they are better able to:
- Stay in work or education
- Maintain relationships with family, friends and colleagues
- Remain active in their communities
Protecting early support helps keep people connected and communities strong.
