We are looking for an experienced facilitator to work with us to support adults in Doncaster whose first language isn’t English.

The main goals of the work we do and the support we offer in the Settle team are to create a supportive environment in wich people can:

• practice their English
• build connections and make new friends
• learn ways to improve their wellbeing
• experience peer support, sharing their life experiences with others

Our new facilitator will deliver wellbeing activities in a group setting with easy-to-understand language in which participants can also learn new words and feel part of a community.

We’re looking for:

Experienced practitioners looking to contribute meaningfully to their community and able to work under a service level agreement (SLA) on a self-employed basis.

Essential skills:

• Subject knowledge and experience and/or relevant qualifications to be able to deliver information to groups
• Knowledge of the barriers that people may face when moving to a new country
• Interest in diverse cultures, languages and people
• Experience working with people who are asylum seekers and refugees, migrants or people whose first language isn’t English
• Empathic understanding
• Non-judgemental attitude
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• The ability to work as part of a team
• Organisational and time management skills
• Good ICT proficiency

Our weekly group sessions take place at Doncaster Mind offices in Market Place and in the nearby local area.
