Round Table
Last week, Doncaster Mind joined a powerful roundtable discussion with Alastair Campbell, Ed Miliband, and colleagues from across Doncaster to explore the urgent mental health challenges facing our communities.
Our CEO, Laura Arthur, and Business Development Lead, Helen Milicevic, were proud to represent Doncaster Mind and contribute to a conversation that didn’t shy away from the realities: rising levels of poverty, persistent stigma, and the structural inequalities that continue to shape mental health outcomes across our borough.
It was especially meaningful to hear from Alastair Campbell, a long-standing ambassador for Mind, who has worked tirelessly over the years to challenge stigma and push for honest, open conversations about mental ill health. His presence reminded us how far the movement has come and how much further we still need to go.
We spoke about what we see every day people navigating complex lives with courage, and the transformative impact of trauma-informed, values-led support. We also shared our belief that mental health must be addressed not just in services, but in housing, education, employment, and community connection.
Grateful to be part of a dialogue that centres around collaboration and a joined up approach across sectors.
Mental health is everyone’s business. Let’s keep the momentum going.
