Settle Project - Supporting Emotional Wellbeing for Second Language English Speakers
Our Settle Project supports the emotional and wellbeing needs of people who have come to Doncaster from other countries.
Whether you have just arrived or have lived here for a while, you are welcome.
We know that talking about mental health can feel difficult in some cultures. We also know that language differences can make it harder to get help.
That’s why our project creates a safe and respectful space where everyone is accepted, no matter how much English you speak.
What We Do
Our group activities help people:
-
Meet others and make new friends
-
Build confidence and practise English
-
Learn simple ways to look after their wellbeing
-
Understand feelings like stress, anxiety, or sadness
-
Feel part of the local community

Join Our Weekly Peer Support Group
Every Tuesday, 4pm–6pm
Venue: Doncaster Mind, Exchange Building, 35 Market Place, Doncaster DN1 1NE
You can join if you want to:
- Practise and improve your English

Workshops and New Activities
We regularly run workshops on topics like:
- Low mood and anxiety

…and more
A new nature-based group will be starting soon — we’re very excited to offer this!
All our groups and workshops are free.
You don’t need an interpreter — our trained staff and volunteers make sure everyone can take part and feel included.
More Than Just a Group
Through our network, we can also connect you with other local activities, events and services in Doncaster that may help you settle in and feel more at home.
