Mental Elf - Christmas Craft Workshops 2023!

It’s time to look after your Mental Elf this Christmas.

Christmas is an unsettling time for a lot of people. In the middle of winter, weather is cold and the nights are early and dark, during financial hardship, with an expectation to “Cheer up, it’s Christmas!”

Mental Elf Craft QuoteAt Doncaster Mind, we want to recognise that the annual festive period can be a challenging time for people – for so many reasons.

For some years now, we’ve been encouraging people to get crafty with us and make their very own Mental Elf to nurture.

When we nurture someone, or make something, it is really good for our mental health. It helps us to begin to look after ourselves better.

Jenni, our Wellbeing Group Coordinator, said, “Craft is a Mindful experience. It’s good for you for so many reasons – helping you to stay in the moment, giving you a sense of achievement and learning something new.

The Mental Elf is a crafted keepsake that you can make and be Mindful during that process. You can gift them, keep them or hide them for someone else to find.”

Our 3 Workshops for 2023:

  • 6.30pm on Thursday 30th November at Mexborough Christmas Light Switch On
  • 11am – 3pm on Wednesday 6th December at Frenchgate Shopping Centre
  • 1.30 – 3pm on Monday 11th December at Doncaster Mind Office, Market Place in Doncaster

See us at the workshops to collect a kit for the Mental Elf to make at home with your loved ones or to sit and make one with us!

We’re looking forward to seeing you there.
